The latest release of Scorewright is available now! We’re still in closed beta, so if you haven’t already, please register for access to try out these new features. This release includes:
Tuplets can be added quickly with the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+2, Ctrl+3, etc. for duplets, triplets, all the way through nonuplets.
As with all Scorewright features, tuplets can be also accessed through the search bar. You can also add tuplets to your toolbelts in the “Rhythm” section:
We went all out on tuplets for this release. Tuplets can be nested to your heart’s content for spicy polyrhythms or hyper-accurate solo transcriptions.
The tuplet bracket itself is also customizable. Double click on a tuplet bracket to access its customization menu. You can adjust
Our tuplets release would not be complete without the ability to swing those eighths.
Check out the new “Playback” dropdown menu next to File and View. You can use it to customize exactly how swung you want your eighths. 0% is straight, 33% is classic triplet swing, and 50% plays eighths as dotted sixteenths.
Use the slider to dial in the perfect feel, or click the triplet or dotted sixteenth buttons above the slider to quickly set that value.
As a part of this release we’ve added support for the double dot. Access it in the search bar or add it to your toolbelts!
Thanks to your feedback we’ve added more clefs, and improved how concert pitch interacts with clefs.
Bari sax and tenor sax now switch clefs when in concert pitch vs. transposed. If you’d rather see a transposed instrument in a different clef when in concert pitch, simply change the first clef and it’ll persist when you toggle concert pitch off and on.
Clefs can be changed by double clicking on a clef to edit it in-place. As usual they can also be accessed in the search bar or toolbelts.
We’re working hard to bring you more notation fundamentals. Next up is whole measure rests and voices, so stay tuned for our next release. We’re also working on expanding our sign-in options. If you’ve registered with an email address we don’t support, we’ll be reaching out once your email type is supported.
We’re still in closed beta, if you haven’t already please register for access and tell us what you want to see next.
We love to hear your feedback! We take your feedback to heart and work to incorporate it into each release. If you haven’t already, check out the updates from our last release all about drums!
